Nearly Two Decades of Choice: A Reliable Light for Every Outdoor Mission
Dhananjay Madan comes from Maharashtra, India. He is an avid trekker and cyclist with 45 years of trekking experience across India and more than 15 years of cycling in India and Europe. After spending decades exploring the outdoors, he deeply understands that reliable outdoor gear can keep you safe on every unknown stretch of road.

“I am Dhananjay Madan. In 2021, my daughter gave me my most satisfying gift — the FENIX BC35R bike light. As an elderly rider who often embarks on long-distance cycling trips alone, this gift was far more than just outdoor equipment; it carried my daughter’s care and thoughtfulness. It delivers 1800 lumens of brightness, is rechargeable and easy to install, and locks firmly onto the handlebar, perfectly suiting all my long rides. My favorite feature is its OLED battery display, which clearly shows the remaining runtime. I no longer need to anxiously guess power levels in the dark, and I can calmly adjust my cycling pace based on road conditions and time, bringing me peace of mind every time I set off at night.
This bike light filled with my daughter’s affection stayed with me for four years. It accompanied me on over 40 cycling trips of all sizes across India and has long become my most tacit companion on the road. I’ve ridden the long 550-plus-kilometer route from my hometown Panvel to Goa, the 600-plus-kilometer cross-city loop covering Panvel, Pandharput and Vijapur, plus countless two-day short-distance rides — it has always maintained steady, long-lasting performance.
Later, its screen suddenly stopped working for unknown reasons. Though the lamp’s lighting function remained intact with bright, stable beams, losing the battery readout was a major hassle for someone who loves night riding. After decades of cycling, I’d grown accustomed to planning every trip relying on that precise battery indicator.
I felt really upset seeing the broken screen. I sent an email to Fenix official support just to give it a try, simply explaining the light’s malfunction. I sent the message casually with little expectation, yet the brand’s customer service was incredibly warm. Staff replied to my request quickly, patiently guided me step by step to ship the faulty light to their China service center for inspection and processing. The whole process was thoughtful and professional, and it touched me deeply.
After professional inspection, the service team informed me that screen parts for this model had been discontinued and could not be replaced separately. I was very disappointed at that moment, thinking my old companion would have to be retired completely. But the brand took the initiative to offer a free upgrade to the brand-new, improved BC30 V2.0 bike light. The entire process, from shipping the old light to receiving the new one, only took 30 days, which was extremely efficient. I only covered basic courier and customs fees and received a fully upgraded piece of gear. The new model is upgraded to 2000 lumens with higher brightness and better overall experience, fitting my cycling needs far better in all aspects. This surprise far exceeded my expectations.
Nowadays, many brands only focus on sales and neglect after-sales service, but Fenix treats every ordinary user sincerely and cherishes every long-term bond with its customers. This heartwarming after-sales experience made me truly realize that Fenix is not merely a brand that manufactures lights, but a peer that understands outdoor pursuits, passion and human feelings. It is this utmost sincerity that made me willing to share my real experience and pass on this warmth and good reputation to more cycling and outdoor lovers.

The brand-new Fenix BC30 V2.0 quickly took over from my old companion and accompanied me to explore more magnificent journeys. From May 20 to June 3, 2026, I set off on a cross-Nepal cycling trip, riding from Banbasa Village on Nepal’s western border through mountain valleys all the way to Kalarvitta Village on the eastern border, traveling the full length of this Himalayan nation.
Nepal sits in the Himalayas, and many roads here are in poor condition or under constant repair, making night riding far from ideal. But sometimes we have no choice but to ride after dark. When I use the Fenix BC 30 V 2.0, its bright, focused beam illuminates every road bend and every small pebble ahead of my wheels, making my cycling relaxed and confident.
The ride to Ranimahal, known as the ‘Taj Mahal of Nepal’, was especially tough. Steep mountain roads, rugged off-road trails, dangerous bends and long downhill sections put our cycling skills, patience and focus to the test.

Beyond my Nepal trip, six cycling friends and I completed a long-distance ride across four countries: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, covering a total of 3,800 kilometers. I always led the team during night rides. The Fenix bike light delivers such powerful brightness that my fellow riders with dimmer lights could follow safely behind me.
Cycling lets me admire magnificent mountain scenery, and it also brings countless gentle little joys. Local children along the way would chase me on their bicycles, greeting me warmly with pure, sincere eyes. We visited two or three primary schools in Cambodia and met many students there. When we set off from Bangkok, Thailand, I spotted a local woman struggling to fix her bike chain. I asked for her permission first, then helped her repair it so she could continue her journey. The friendship and joy built with people along the way heal all the exhaustion of long-distance cycling.”
