Nearly Two Decades of Choice: A Reliable Light for Every Outdoor Mission
For a marine engineer working aboard a massive container ship, the engine room is a familiar world of darkness, noise, and machinery. Down there, a flashlight is far more than a tool. It is a second pair of eyes—something you rely on and rarely leave behind. For one marine engineer, this is where his story with Fenix began. Here is his story, in his own words.

My Second Pair of Eyes
Working as a marine engineer on a massive container ship means spending countless hours in the dark, roaring depths of the engine room. Down there, a flashlight isn’t just a tool—it’s your second pair of eyes, something you never separate from.
At the time, my loyal companion was the Fenix E28R. It outshone every single flashlight my crewmates had, and I was incredibly proud of it. Whenever the topic of gear came up, I would enthusiastically tell everyone: “Fenix is the absolute best brand out there.”
My colleagues used to laugh and tease me, asking, “Hey, how much are they paying you for this commercial?” But nobody paid me a dime. I was just a true fan.
I own a whole collection: a headlamp, a bike light, an EDC light in my bag, and various models for work.
From One Recommendation to the “Fenix Marketing Team”
When our ship docked in South Korea, our Chief Electrician asked me for a recommendation. I told him to go for the Fenix E35R—a compact, powerful beast with a magnetic tail cap.
He trusted my word and bought it. That entire evening, he was like a kid on Christmas. He sat in his cabin with the lights off, comparing it to his old flashlight, completely amazed by the difference.
From that day on, we were practically “the Fenix marketing team” of the ship.

When the Light Really Mattered
The real test came later at an Asian port. It was night, pitch black, and we were loading reefer (refrigerated) containers.
Suddenly, one of the reefers broke down. A team of shore technicians arrived, and our Electrician went with them to fix it.
The local repairmen brought out their flashlights—dim, flickering, and barely able to pierce the darkness. Then, our Electrician turned his Fenix E35R to maximum power.
He told me later that the technicians were literally left speechless. The blinding, crystal-clear beam illuminated the entire machinery space like daylight.
The repair was a success, and our Electrician couldn’t stop talking about it to the whole crew. I felt incredibly satisfied knowing that my advice had helped when it really mattered.
The Fenix Fever Spreads
The “Fenix fever” quickly spread across the ship.
Not long ago, our Second Engineer sent me a photo from an airport duty-free shop right before his next contract—he had just bought himself an E35R. Our First Engineer also promised to upgrade to a Fenix before his next voyage.
As for me? I’ve updated my gear too. My trusty E28R has passed the torch to a brand-new E35R.
We started as skeptics and believers, but now, the whole engine room is lit by Fenix.
When lives and machinery depend on reliability, you don’t just need a flashlight.
You need a Fenix.
